Police Investigating Late Night Drive By Gang Related Shooting

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (Press Release) The San Angelo Police Department is investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that occurred Thursday night in the 900 block of E. 20th Street.  

On Sept. 13, 2018, units were dispatched to the area around 11:35 p.m. for the report of a shooting victim.  Officers were directed to a passenger car where they located the 42-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers rendered immediate first aid to the victim before his transport to Shannon Medical Center where he received treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries.  He has since been released.

The preliminary investigation revealed the man was an unintended victim of an apparent drive-by shooting, which is believed to be gang-related.  The suspects were reportedly driving a dark-colored pickup truck.

The shooter was described as a young Hispanic male.
