Tom Green Co. Sheriff's Office Issues Statement About Slashing on Cinnamon Lane

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 7:01 p.m., Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the unit block of Cinnamon Lane in reference to an assault.

Deputies arrived and made contact with a witness who stated the assailant was still inside the home.  Deputy Armstrong entered the residence and apprehended April Garcia without incident.

The witness stated the victim had been stabbed with a knife by Garcia after a brief altercation.

San Angelo Fire Department Medic 6 arrived on scene, the victim was transported by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Tom Green County Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to continue the investigation. It was learned during the investigation the victim had arrived at the residence and began arguing with Garcia.  Garcia then attacked the victim with a knife causing the victim multiple injuries.

34-year-old April Lee Garcia was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon.
