North Side Woman Slashes Relative with a Ten Inch Knife

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the unit block of Cinnamon Lane Tuesday evening for the report of a stabbing victim.

April Lee Garcia, 34, was arrested Tuesday night for aggravated assault family/house with weapon, a 1st Degree Felony, after stabbing her father multiple times.

When TGSO arrived on scene, they came in contact with a male on the premises stating that his sister had stabbed their father with a knife.

According to court documents, the deputy and sergeant located Garcia inside the house and they asked her where the victim was. Garcia stated, “he’s over there, I cut him up in the head and in the stomach.” Garcia was handcuffed and detained in the back of the deputy’s vehicle.

The victim was located inside the residence with a stab wound to his left chest, left ear, forehead, nose, and a defensive wound on his left hand.

The complaint states that the investigating detective observed numerous blood spatter droplets in front of the kitchen sink and kitchen refrigerator, along with two black handled knives, both approximately ten inches in length, in the sink covered with blood.

The detective spoke to the brother, who called 911. The male stated, he and the victim where feeding animals in the backyard when the victim noticed human food and vegetables in the yard.  He stated the victim then went into the house and verbally confront Garcia about the food.

The brother heard yelling from both parties, then heard a loud thump noise coming from inside the residence. When the brother walked inside to see, he stated that he saw that Garcia had pinned the victim in the kitchen and was holding a knife in her right hand. He decided to run to the front yard and call authorities.

Garcia was arrested and booked in Tom Green County jail. Garcia sits in jail in lieu of $75,000.
