Jury Finds Lerma Guilty in Less than an Hour

SAN ANGELO,TX -- A Tom Green County jury found ‘lilmisspopular’ Krystal Nicole Lerma guilty of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit robbery in less than an hour.

Lerma was indicted for her role in the double murders of Jimmy Andrew Gonzales and Anthony Martinez on the night of Sept. 12, 2016. District Attorney Allison Palmer presented evidence that Lerma and convicted murderer Raymond Alvarado exchanged a series of phone calls and texts in the hours leading up to the killings.

Alvarado took a plea deal earlier this year that sends him to prison for life without parole.

Lerma faces five to 99 years or life in prison.  She is eligible for probation.

District Judge Ben Woodward will hear evidence in the punishment phase this afternoon.  He will assess punishment after all the evidence has been presented.
