LUBBOCK, TX-- A juvenile male was put behind bars on suspicion of murder in Lubbock early Friday morning, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.

Lubbock police say they received a call for an injured male lying on the sidewalk in the 3200 block of Baylor Street. The 55-year-old man, who’s name has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LPD Spokeswoman Tiffany Pelt.

“Due to the nature of the death, detectives arrived on scene to immediately conduct a homicide investigation,” Pelt told the Avalanche-Journal.

According to information gathered in the investigation, investigators learned the victim had been talking to a younger male before being found on the sidewalk.

“Detectives quickly located the juvenile, and as the investigation continued the juvenile was arrested and charged with murder,” Pelt said.

According to Pelt, the investigation is still ongoing with the LPD Investigation Services Bureau and investigators have yet to determine what led to the murder.
