Abilene Police Department Arrest Six on Counterfeit and Drug Charges

 

ABILENE, TX — Abilene Police Department Fraud Division and Cyber Crimes Unit has arrested six suspects on Counterfeit and Drug charges.

Officers executed two search and arrest warrants on March 22, on the 1300 block of Elm and 400 block of Victoria streets in North Abilene.

According to a post by the Abilene Police Department, Terry Gilmore, age 45, was arrested at a home on Elm St. for Third Degree Felony Forgery, State Jai Felony Possession of Meth, State Jail Felony Possession of Identifying Information and Class B Possession Marijuana. Additionally Tabitha Barton, age 34, Buttch Janes, age 41, and Christopher Janes, age 24, were all arrested for Class B Possession of Marijuana.

Evidence at the Elm St. residence included counterfeit money, stolen, and forged checks, stolen identification, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Garrett Ortiz, age 26, was arrested at a home on Victoria St. and charged with Second Degree Felony Manufacture/Delivery of Meth, Third Degree Felony Forgery, State Jail Felony Possession of Identifying Information, State Jail Felony Forgery, Class A Misdemeanor Possession Dangerous Drug and Class B Theft. Sandra Paquin, age 41, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Felony Manufacture/Delivery of Meth and State Jail Felony Possession of Identifying Information.

The evidence on Victoria Street included counterfeit money, stolen and forged checks, stolen identifications, methamphetamine, marijuana, and a stolen 3-wheel bicycle from a 90-year-old victim who reported it stolen on Jan. 30. Other suspected stolen property has been recovered.

Ortiz’s 17-month-old child was on location and was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The child was removed by Child Protective Services and will be placed in foster care.

Additional charges are pending with this investigation.
