Two Women Arrested in Prostitution Sting Released From Jail

SAN ANGELO, TX-- Following their arrests, Hai Xiang Liu and Mei Fang Shi have been released from the Tom Green County Jail. Liu posted bail on Aug. 31 at 1:14 p.m., while Shi was released today at 9:14 a.m.

Shi was arrested on a class B misdemeanor charge of prostitution on Aug. 30. Liu also received a Class B misdemeanor charge for License/Owner violation after it was concluded that she did not have the proper licensing to operate her massage parlor. Both of their bonds were set at $500 each.

The two were arrested following an undercover operation by the SAPD Street Crimes Division. SAPD was helped by Homeland Security during the operation. SAPD also said there was a suspicion of human trafficking being committed, but no evidence was found to support that claim.
