Howard County Sheriff's Arrest Suspects in Death of 12-Year-Old

 

BIG SPRING, TEXAS-- Arrests have been made in regards to the tragic May 10, 2017 shooting of 12-year-old, Jose Hernandez. Hernandez was shot at a residence in the County North of Big Spring. After he was shot, Hernandez was transported to the emergency room by private vehicle. The Howard County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) received warrants for the following subjects involved in the shooting:

  • Christopher Andrew Yanez 02/07/1993-In Jail
  • Cindy Machado Lopez 09/28/1996-In Jail
  • Cody Alan Wingo 07/27/1988-In Jail
  • Kimberly Kay Carson 07/09/1985- Firearms Smuggling, Felony-2

Due to the complexity of the investigation HCSO is awaiting the final Autopsy and Forensic Lab reports, Sheriff Stan Parker wrote in a HCSO press release.

"Once we receive this information we will complete the case and further charges relating to the death of Hernandez will be filed with the District Attorney’s Office," Sheriff Parker added.

Since posting the press release, all subjects have been arrested with the exception of Kimberly Kay Carson. HCSO asks anyone with  information on her whereabouts to contact them at (432)-264-2244 or (432)-264-2231.
