Big Spring Police Bust El Paso Couple for Possessing Over 30 Pounds of Marijuana

 

BIG SPRING, TX - Yesterday, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Big Spring Police Department Officers arrested a couple for possession of more than 30 pounds of marijuana after responding to a disturbance at the “Star Stop” convenience store in the 4800 block of W. Hwy 80.

"Upon arrival, it was found that a female and male subject had been traveling from El Paso to Dallas when the female observed in the vehicle what appeared to be drugs," said Big Spring PD officials. "When the female subject confronted the male, an argument initiated at which time she called the police."

Upon further investigation, Big Spring Police Department officers located the marijuana and a small amount of cocaine  hidden within the vehicle.

The male, identified as Humberto Rosales, 30, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 5 pounds but less than 50, a third degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance over 1 gram but less than 4 grams, also a third degree felony. The female was released without charges.
