Weekend Arrests: Arrest Evaders, Criminal Trespassers and Crashers

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Over the weekend, local law enforcement arrested 64 people for primarily drug, alcohol and driving infractions. Included in those arrests were Antoine Jamal Anderson, 27, Joshua Leroy Clark, 29, Crystal Rene Navarette, 27, and Jesus Ruiz-Lopez, 19.

Friday evening, at around 8:30 p.m., San Angelo Police dispatched to Sunset Mall for the report of unwanted subjects. At that time, Anderson fled police. He was caught and taken into custody for Evading Arrest Detention.

This is Anderson's 1st arrest in Tom Green County.

Shortly before that arrest, at around 8:15 p.m., SAPD officers dispatched to the Walmart on W. 29th St., also for the report of an unwanted subject. As a result, Clark was arrested for Criminal Trespass.

This is Clark's 28th arrest in TGC.

As stated previously, driving infractions were an issue this weekend. Not only was Ruiz-Lopez arrested for Duty on Striking Fixture/HWY Landscape following a hit-and-run investigation at E. 14th and N. Oakes St. Sunday morning (see story here), and after colliding with a utility pole and fleeing the scene, Navarette also got arrested after crashing into an unmarked police car and failing to stop.

At around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Navarette was taken into custody in the 1300 block of Austin St. 

This is Navarette's 4th arrest in TGC.

Overall, out of the 64 arrests, 24 people went to jail for new complaints, 32 for outstanding warrants and eight for both.

  • Public Intoxication: 4
  • Unauthorized Use of Vehicle: 1
  • DWI: 4
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence: 1
  • Assault by Contact--Family Violence: 1
  • FTS Designated Point--Red Light: 1
  • Duty on Striking Fixture/Hwy Landscape: 1
  • Burglary of Habitation: 1
  • Display Fictitious Motor Vehicle Registration: 1
