High Speed Chase, Resisting Arrest and Indecent Exposure Leads to Jail Time

In the past three days, 67 people kept local law enforcement busy. Resisting arrest and indecent exposure are only some of the crimes that sent these individuals to the Tom Green County Jail. Also, the two suspects from yesterday’s high speed chase made today’s booking report and another crime has been added to their list of crimes.

Yesterday evening, Jimmy Jack Porter and Johnathan Christopher McKay, both of Wink, Texas took a trip to the TGCJ after Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers arrested them for a high speed chase on FM 388. To learn more, click here.

For his crimes, Porter was charged with evading arrest detention with a vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and the added crime, theft of a firearm. McKay was also charged with theft of a firearm and tampering/fabricating physical evidence.

In addition to these two Wink residents, one San Angelo resident, Michael Joseph Contreras, 19, went to the TGCJ for resisting arrest, public intoxication, harassment of a public servant and possession of marijuana.

Sgt. Cade Solsbery, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said officers were notified of a suspicious subject in the 1600 block of Linda Lee in the early morning on March 24. They located Contreras hiding behind a car. The man was intoxicated and placed under arrest for public intoxication. Additionally, officers located marijuana.

“After being placed under arrest, Contreras spit on the officers,” said Solsbery. “He was charged with harassing a public servant for spitting on them.”

When officers placed Contreras in a patrol unit, he kept trying to get out of the car and kicked the windows of the patrol car. That added the resisting transportation and possession of marijuana to his list of offenses. This arrest makes #7 for Contreras.

Another San Angelo man, Milton Castilleja, III, 27, was also booked into the TGCJ yesterday afternoon for resisting arrest, search or transport, obstruction or retaliation, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and for giving false information.

Solsbery said Castilleja was called in as an unwanted subject in the 600 block of S. Bell Street. When officers located him, Castilleja provided them with a false name when the officers attempted to identify him. As a result, the officers placed Castilleja under arrest. They also found a bag of marijuana.

“During his arrest and search incident to arrest, [Castilleja] resisted officers,” Solsbery said. “He [also] made threats against the officers’ life.”

This arrest marks Castilleja’s 19^th visit to the TGCJ.

A San Angelo woman booked into the TGCJ yesterday evening, Patricia A. Jones, 60, decided she would wander around without pants, so she was charged with indecent exposure.

Solsbery said Jones was sitting in her yard not wearing pants with her genitals exposed.

“The officer tried to get her to go inside, but she, at first, refused,” said Solsbery. “Eventually, she did go inside and the officer closed the door behind her. She came back out again with no pants on. There were children in the area, so the officer arrested her for indecent exposure.”

This was Jones’ 11^th arrest.

Out of the 67 people booked into the TGCJ, including these individuals, 24 had new complaints. Those complaints consist of the following:

• Possession of Marijuana: 2
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 1
• Possession of Controlled Substance: 3

• Theft: 2
• Injury to Child/Elderly: 1
• Prohibited Weapon Knuckles: 1
• Fail to Identify: 1

Also, 42 people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
