Two of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Fugitives Have Been Arrested

 

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced that two fugitives on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list were recently captured, said a press release Tuesday. Roy Edward Arevalo Jr.,19, was arrested on Nov. 16 in Houston, and Markeith McWright, 32, was captured on Nov. 18 in Dallas.

Arevalo was taken into custody during a traffic stop by the Houston Police Department Traffic Enforcement-Interdiction Unit. In March 2014, Arevalo, who has ties to the Raza Unida gang, allegedly conspired with a Brazos County jailer and inmate to deliver prohibited narcotics inside the Brazos County Jail facility. McWright was arrested through tip information by the Dallas Police Department.The DPS Criminal Investigations Division assisted in the investigation. A cash reward was paid, as this arrest was the result of a tip. McWright, who is wanted for assault, parole violation, and probation violation, is a confirmed Crips gang member. So far, DPS and other agencies have arrested 27 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives in 2015. $69,000 in rewards have been paid in tips.

According to the press release, to be eligible for the cash rewards, there are five different ways to provide anonymous tips:
