Crazed San Angelo Man Jailed for Arson, Tased After Charging at Deputy

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested for setting two houses on fire and running from law enforcement.

Jessie Holleman, 42, was arrested by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office for arson, evading arrest and endangering a child.

According to court documents, on March 22, 2026, at about 5 p.m., deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 11000 block of FM 2166 regarding a male subject who was acting erratically and attempting to set fire to his residence.

Once on scene, deputies observed two separate habitations fully engulfed in flames.

The victim’s teen daughter was thought to be inside the burning building but ended up being safe with her adult sister near the scene of the fire. The investigator also learned that the male subject, identified as Holleman, had fled the property in a white pickup truck.

A deputy located Holleman’s truck swerving throughout the roadway with a flat rear left tire. Holleman drove onto US 67 and did not stop when the deputy initiated a traffic stop. He ended up evading the stop and turned onto Duncan Road.

There, Holleman crashed into a fence at a curve in the road but returned to the roadway and continued to flee. A DPS Trooper joined the pursuit and, while attempting a PIT maneuver, Holleman came to a complete stop, exited his truck, and ran screaming towards the deputy. The officer deployed his taser, which dropped Holleman to the ground, where he hit his head.

Holleman was taken into custody and transported to Shannon Hospital.

On March 24, 2026, a forensic interview was conducted at the Children’s Advocacy Center with the victim’s teen daughter. She stated the Holleman kicked in her bedroom door and yelled, “I am about to burn this house down, what do you love most?" then grabbed a rolled-up poster and used a lighter to ignite it.

He placed the now on-fire poster against the wall, but it did not catch, so he threw it into a cardboard box that was in her brother’s room, which did catch fire. The teen then said Holleman left to go to the other house on the property, and she used water to put the fire out.

She stated that Holleman then came back inside the house and lit furniture on fire and left again. She sad that she did not see smoke coming from either residence as she ran away from the scene. The teen also took two pictures while attempting to extinguish the flames. The photographs showed significant flames, which would have spread rapidly.

Holleman was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on March 28, 2026 and is being held on $410,000 bond.
