Robert Zackry Burwick did not look thrilled when a corrections officer snapped his photo at around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning and booked him into the county jail. Burwick, 23, had been charged with purchasing/furnishing alcohol to a minor, public intoxication, open container and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office.
Joining Burwick in jail over the weekend were five others who chose to drink and drive, beginning on Friday with 35-year-old Gabel Guevara Barrera, who after causing a wreck and injuring the occupants of the other vehicle, fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended. In the jail on Friday night, Barrera was initially booked for public intoxication, but as the investigation developed his charge was switched to intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony.
Additionally, 45-year-old Michael Hall was booked for DWI on Friday, with a BAC of >/= 0.15, or twice the legal limit. View all of Friday's bookings here, or follow the link to view Friday's releases.

Two more charged with drunk driving were jailed on Sunday, including 30-year-old Albert Glen Haschke, who was booked on his second DWI, and 29-year-old Samuel Jorden Charlesworth, booked for driving while intoxicated by the SAPD.
In addition to those booked for DWI on Sunday, there were four charged with assault, three possession and three theft charges, two pot charges and one possession and one manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance charge.
Twenty-five inmates were released on Sunday.
