Firefighters Battle Blaze Sunday Night in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Fire crews responded to a structure fire Sunday night. It happened at a residence on the 100 block of East Riverside Avenue.

The call came in around 9 p.m., less than an hour after a separate fire at Angelo State University. According to dispatch communications, the house was reportedly at least partially engulfed when firefighters arrived at the corner of South Bell Street and East Riverside Avenue.

Multiple engines from the San Angelo Fire Department responded and were seen working the blaze under heavy smoke conditions. It was unclear if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire. Crews at the scene said they were still working to determine if the house was occupied.

No injuries were confirmed as of late Sunday night, and authorities have not released the cause of the fire.
