GoFundMe Created for Family of Veribest Teacher Killed in Highway Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX— A GoFundMe has been started for the family of the Veribest teacher who was tragically killed in a crash on Wednesday morning.

Yesterday, it was reported by the Department of Public Safety that Lee Ann Cauley was killed when she was rear-ended at a railroad crossing on U.S. 277 at Old Ballinger Highway

The GoFundMe, created by Amber L. Heiser, says:

"On March 11, 2026, our family and community lost a beautiful soul far too soon. Lee Ann Cauley was tragically taken from us in a car accident, leaving behind her loving husband, Jamie, and their precious son, Tucker.

"The loss is unimaginable and the days ahead will be incredibly difficult as they begin to navigate life without her.

"Lee Ann was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome the moment they met her. She was warm, talkative, genuinely kind, and deeply caring toward everyone around her. As a teacher and colleague, she poured her heart into the lives of her students and those she worked beside. As a friend, she was loyal and compassionate. At home, she was a devoted wife and Tucker’s biggest fan, always cheering him on and loving her family with her whole heart.

"During this incredibly painful time, we want Jamie and Tucker to be surrounded by love and support rather than worry about financial burdens. This fundraiser has been created to help cover funeral expenses and any unforeseen costs they may face in the coming weeks and months.

"Our hope is that by easing this financial strain, Jamie can focus on grieving, healing, and caring for Tucker.

"Most importantly, we ask for continued prayer for this family. In the days immediately following a loss, support often surrounds a family but the weeks and months that follow can be the hardest. Please continue to lift Jamie and Tucker up in prayer and love them well long after the dust settles.

"Scripture reminds us of God’s nearness in moments like these: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalms 34:18.

"We also hold onto this promise, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4.

"Thank you for any support you can give, whether through prayer, sharing this fundraiser, or donating. Every act of kindness and love helps carry this family through an unimaginable season."

The GoFundMe had raised $3,040 of the $24,000 goal. You can donate by CLICKING HERE.
