Odessa Man Accused of Ramming Brother’s Car, Then Shooting Him

ODESSA, TX — A man is in custody after Odessa police say he rammed his brother’s car several times, caused a crash, and then shot him multiple times Sunday afternoon at East 52nd Street and Esmond Drive.

According to the Odessa Police Department, officers were called at 1:43 p.m. for what was reported as a major incident. Police say Leroy Robinson, driving a silver Nissan 350Z, struck a Nissan 370Z operated by his brother, Roy Robinson, twice before Roy’s vehicle collided with a white Ford Explorer in the intersection.

Investigators say that after the vehicles came to a stop, Leroy got out and used a handgun to shoot Roy multiple times while Roy was still inside his car.

Roy was transported to Medical Center Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. His condition was not released.

Police said the incident is being treated as an intentional act and noted there is no evidence indicating it was a road-rage situation. Leroy Robinson is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
