Food Truck Explosion at Storage Facility Triggers Late-Night Fire Response Near San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Multiple fire departments responded late Sunday night to a structure fire at Affordable Storage on U.S. Highway 67 after a food truck reportedly exploded inside a storage unit, according to the Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

This happened around 11:45 p.m. Dove Creek VFD was the first agency dispatched, with automatic mutual aid from the Wall Volunteer Fire Department. Additional support was requested from the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the San Angelo Fire Department.

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke coming from the affected unit. No injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly brought under control.

"Just a few months ago our department conducted pre-incident planning on this location and this knowledge helped crews quickly access the incident," information from the department stated. "It’s through these relationships, training, and planning that we are effectively able to serve our community."
