SAN ANGELO, TX— A lunchtime crash between an SUV and a white truck sent three people to the hospital.
Around 11:50 a.m., San Angelo first responders were dispatched to the Abe Street and West Twohig Avenue near Downtown San Angelo regarding a major vehicle crash. On scene, a white pickup truck and a black SUV were observed to be involved.
The white pickup was almost completely out of the roadway on Abe Street and struck the Texas Trust Credit Union sign while the black SUV was in the middle of the road. EMS crews ended up transporting three individuals to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
According to an officer with the San Angelo Police Department, both the white truck and black SUV were southbound on Abe Street. The black SUV attempted to turn left onto West Twohig Avenue from the wrong lane and collided with the white truck.
Each vehicle had two occupants inside and both from the SUV were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The passenger in the white truck was also taken to Shannon with minor injuries.
A citation was issued to the driver of the black SUV for Improper Lane Usage, turning from the wrong lane.
The roads were dry at the time of the crash, but wind gusts today could reach anywhere from 30 to 50 miles per hour. San Angelo currently has multiple weather hazards in effect including a wind advisory and a red flag warning.
