Texas State Trooper Injured in I-10 Semi-truck Crash

SIERRA BLANCA, TX - A Texas state trooper was hospitalized after crashing into a stranded trailer on Interstate 10 in Hudspeth County late Saturday, officials stated.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 near mile marker 95, between Fort Hancock and Sierra Blanca, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said a semi-truck pulling a low-bed trailer attempted a U-turn at the center median, leaving the trailer stranded and blocking both westbound lanes of I-10. A trooper traveling westbound collided with the trailer.

The trooper was taken by ambulance to Del Sol Medical Center in East El Paso and is listed in stable condition.

The names of the trooper and the truck driver have not been released, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
