Driver Disregards Red Light, Crashes Into San Angelo Police Detective

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A driver disregarded a red light Tuesday morning and crashed into a detective with the San Angelo Police Department.

The detective, who was driving a silver Ford Fusion, was uninjured and released at the scene, according to a SAPD traffic officer.

The driver of the white Lincoln Towncar was an elderly woman who was taken to Shannon Medical Center for precautionary reasons, the officer stated.

The woman was given a citation for disregarding the red light at the intersection of South Koenigheim Street and West Beauregard Avenue.

She was driving northbound on Koenigheim and crashed into the Fusion as it was headed west on Beauregard at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
