Trooper Airlifted After Being Struck While Investigating Crash on Highway 302

 

NOTREES, TX – A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while investigating a crash on State Highway 302 near mile marker 246 in Ector County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, it happened around 9 a.m. when the trooper, who was outside of his patrol vehicle, was hit while assessing the scene of an earlier crash.

The trooper was initially transported to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa but was later airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock for further treatment.

The trooper remains in serious but stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
