Driver Cited After Off-Road Detour Following Sherwood Way Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX - A two-vehicle crash happened this afternoon in the 5500 block of Sherwood Way, near the new H-E-B.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, it happened around 3:15 p.m. when a silver F-150 was headed westbound when it failed to control speed and ran into the back of a white F-250.

The driver at fault was checked for medical issues, which she told police that she didn’t have.

She also claimed that she got hit from behind, but there was no evidence on her pickup to prove that. We were told that she rear-ended the other driver.

“And for whatever reason, she just did a little off-roading all the way to the tree here,” police said. “It occurred out there in the roadway, and then she turned on the access road, and for whatever reason, she just hooked a left and drove out in the field."

The driver at fault was cited for failure to control speed, causing the crash.

An elderly passenger in the at-fault vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The driver on the receiving end was fine and was able to drive away.

Damage was minor on both vehicles.
