GRAPE CREEK, TX – A vehicle narrowly avoided a fatal disaster when it was impaled by a pipe fence following a crash on US Highway 87 North on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, this happened just before 4 p.m. when the fire department was dispatched in response to the scene between Ute Pass and Apache Lane.

Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed into a pipe fence, which penetrated the vehicle. It was reported that the pipe missed all occupants by inches.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for a medical assessment. Information states that the road conditions were wet and rainy at the time of the crash.
