Truck With RV Blown Off Road on FM 2288

SAN ANGELO, TX — On a very cold and windy Saturday evening, what looks like a Sandpiper RV trailer, possibly a fifth wheel, has found a new home in a barrow ditch laying on its side.

Home Motors, the wrecker company, had to dispatch a crane to upright the rig and pull it out of the ditch. The crash happened just after 6 p.m. as the cold front was whipping through the area.

According to the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, there were no injuries. In fact, no ambulance was dispatched. The pickup that was towing the fifth wheel RV was removed from the scene before we arrived.

The crash happened near the entrance to Buffalo Heights on FM 2288. The road was closed for about three hours while salvage operations commenced. These types of RVs sell for $70,000 to $80,000 at RV lots.
