Red Light Violation Causes Crash on Sherwood Way

SAN ANGELO, TX — Traffic halted on one of San Angelo's busiest intersections due to a crash late Friday morning. A collision between a silver Chevy pickup truck and a black Impala caused a delay at the intersection of Sherwood Way and Sunset Drive.

According to San Angelo Police officers on the scene, the silver pickup was traveling north on Sunset when the driver failed to yield to the black Impala, which was traveling south on Sunset and attempting to turn left onto Sherwood Way. The black Impala had a protected left turn, but the pickup sped through the intersection and caused the crash.

Medical personnel on the scene transported a passenger in the Chevy pickup to Shannon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else had to be taken to the hospital. Law enforcement cited the driver of the Chevy pickup for running the red light.
