SAN ANGELO, TX - Two vehicles crashed in the rain Tuesday morning at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Sherwood Way, sending one to the hospital.
Upon arrival, police discovered a red Chevy Suburban and a red Toyota Corolla Cross SUV had been involved in the crash.
The red Suburban, driven by a 75-year-old man, was heading westbound on Sherwood Way with a front passenger.
In contrast, the 85-year-old female driver of the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Sherwood, waiting to make a left turn onto Sunset.
The police department said that the Toyota pulled out directly in front of the oncoming Suburban, resulting in a crash at the intersection.
Emergency services transported the driver of the Toyota to Shannon Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity.
According to the San Angelo Police Department, the driver was reported to be breathing and coherent at the time of transportation.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the red Chevy Suburban, both the driver and the front passenger, declined immediate medical transport.
However, they expressed willingness to undergo medical examination in the future if they experience any discomfort or pain.
Following a preliminary investigation, the driver of the red Toyota was cited for failure to yield the right of way while turning left.
No additional citations were issued in connection with the incident.
