WATCH: Red Light Disregard Leads to Afternoon Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — In an afternoon crash at the 600 block of South Chadbourne and East Avenue L, local law enforcement and emergency services responded to a crash between a white Chevy Tahoe and a black Honda Pilot.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, the crash occurred when the driver of the Honda, headed eastbound on Avenue L, was struck by the white Chevy Tahoe traveling north on Chadbourne as it entered the intersection.

An eyewitness account supported the claim that the Honda driver had the green light at the time of the crash, corroborating the statement from the driver of the Chevy, who asserted that her light had turned red.

The white Chevy Tahoe proceeded into the intersection, resulting in a forceful crash with the Honda in the middle of the crossing.

The impact prompted emergency medical attention for two occupants inside the Honda, who were subsequently rushed to Shannon Medical Center for further treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the Chevy, while possibly sustaining minor injuries, did not require immediate hospitalization.

However, authorities cited her for disregarding a red light, signaling a potential contributing factor to the incident.
