School Bus Smashes into 18-Wheeler

SAN ANGELO, TX — Out on Burma Road Tuesday afternoon, a school bus plowed into an 18-wheeler sand truck during the after school bus run.

No official reasons for the crash have been determined yet. But witnesses on the scene said the bus was turning off Deer Valley Rd. onto Burma Rd. and hit the rear tires of the semi as the truck tractor was traveling east on Burma Rd.

The bus’s front end shows significant damage. No serious injuries were reported but multiple ambulances were dispatched fearing the worst.

The weather was cloudy but the roadways were dry. The crash happened just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023. Burma Rd. is off the Carlsbad Loop in the north end of Tom Green County. The 18-wheeler looked like it was hauling aggregates. Carlsbad CSA Materials, Inc. is located at 7767 N. Burma Rd. These truck tractors towing semi-trailers of aggregates are common around this area of the county. The DPS is investigating.
