WATCH: Major Crash on Sunset Drive Disrupts Traffic

SAN ANGELO  - A motor vehicle accident occurred this afternoon at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Sherwood Way, leading to traffic restrictions and causing delays for commuters.

The San Angelo Police Department told San Angelo Live that upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with a 30-year-old female, identified as the driver of a red Dodge SUV involved in the incident.

The collision also involved a black Ford F150 pickup driven by a 74-year-old male, accompanied by a 43-year-old male passenger.

Emergency medical personnel were called to assess both drivers involved in the crash.

According to the San Angelo PD, all individuals involved in the accident did not require immediate transportation to the hospital.

Medical professionals on the scene conducted thorough checks on everyone involved.

Preliminary investigations by officers revealed that the black Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on Sherwood Way, while the red Dodge SUV was heading westbound on the same road.

The collision occurred as the pickup driver prepared to turn south onto Sunset Drive, and the driver of the red Dodge failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the red SUV received a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

The collision led to restrictions on westbound traffic at the intersection, reducing it to one lane.
