WATCH: Flying Tire Causes Crash on Houston Harte

SAN ANGELO - A tire flew off of a moving vehicle, causing a disruption in traffic on the Houston Harte Expressway near Glenna St. Wednesday about 5:45 p.m. causing major traffic issues.

The driver of the vehicle told our reporter on the scene, who was also a firsthand witness that he had just gotten his tires rotated from a local Chevy dealership. He and his wife were on their way for dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

The driver also called the Chevy dealership and said that they sent a wrecker to the scene.

The driver said that the dealership would also deal with the damage.

The tire came off while the driver was in the far right lane and crossed over the median, striking another car.

The tire then continued to roll back rapidly, crossing the median once more and through all lanes of traffic, finally ending in the median.

There were no injuries reported.
