Nissan Altima Driver Clipped in Mad Rush Home for Thanksgiving

SAN ANGELO, TX — The rush to begin Thanksgiving celebrations took a concerning turn late Wednesday evening, as a major car accident involving a white Nissan Altima resulted in hospitalization for its driver.

The incident occurred at the intersection of E. 15th St. and Volney, a spot bustling with holiday traffic. San Angelo police report that the Altima, traveling eastbound on E. 15th St., failed to yield at the designated sign, leading to a collision with a Pontiac Grand Prix heading north on Volney.

The impact of the crash left the Altima's driver with chest pains, necessitating immediate medical attention. She was promptly attended to by emergency responders and transported to Shannon’s ER.

Fortunately, the two occupants of the Grand Prix escaped unharmed. However, the Altima's driver received a ticket in absentia from the police for failing to yield.

Remarkably, both vehicles were able to leave the accident scene under their own power, eliminating the need for tow trucks.

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, this incident serves as a stark reminder to stay alert and cautious, particularly at intersections. With the roads busier than usual, the importance of vigilance and adherence to traffic signs cannot be overstated. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Remember, safety first as you travel to join family and friends in celebration!
