SAN ANGELO, TX — A tragic high-speed collision resulted in one fatality near the intersection of FM 2105 and Grape Creek Road on Monday night. Jose Rivera, a representative from the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, reported that the incident occurred at 8:46 p.m., involving a dually one-ton pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer loaded with equipment and a small, white compact car.
As first responders were en route to the scene, dispatchers relayed a concerning message over the radio, stating that an occupant of the compact car was struggling to breathe. Upon arrival, paramedics discovered one deceased occupant in the vehicle, while a second occupant was urgently transported to Shannon ER. The driver of the pickup truck fortunately did not suffer any major injuries.
The impact of the collision scattered debris across an area equivalent to half the length of a football field, or 50 yards, highlighting the high-speed nature of the crash. Conditions were dark but clear, with dry roadways at the time of the incident.
Authorities closed FM 2105 until almost midnight as they conducted their investigation and crews worked diligently to clear the debris.
