Big Time Crash Shuts Down the Busy Chickenbocker Intersection

SAN ANGELO, TX – A two car crash on Wednesday afternoon destroyed two vehicles and held up traffic at a busy lunchtime intersection.

According to our reporters on scene, on July 12, 2023 at around 12:30 p.m., San Angelo Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson and Knickerbocker rd. for the report of a major crash.

Once on scene reporters discovered a Toyota Tacoma and a Buick Enclave that crashed in the middle of the intersection. It appeared to be a T-Bone like crash. As a result of the crash in the highly traveled intersection during the lunch hour, the SAPD had extra units on scene directing traffic.

It is unknown what caused the crash, who was at fault, or if there were any injuries. No statement from the SAPD was given on scene.

This area is nicknamed 'chickenbocker' because of the multiple restaurants in the area that specialize in chicken.
