Bad Crash on US 87 Takes Out Fence, Destroys Truck

SAN ANGELO, TX — A major crash in North San Angelo took out a fence and destroyed a truck during Friday’s noon hour.

According to reporters on the scene, on Apr. 7, 2023, at around 12 p.m., Public Safety, Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies, and San Angelo Fire and EMS were dispatched to 87 North Frontage Rd. near Chadbourne Street after a report of a major crash.

When the crews arrived, they discovered a newer model Ford F250 that had driven through a fence and into a field.

There was extensive damage on the truck, and all airbags were deployed. Here are photos from the scene:

EMS had left the crash prior to our reporters arriving on the scene.

Per regulations, Texas DPS did not issue a statement on the scene. If the crash ends up being fatal, DPS will issue a public press release.

As for the cause of the crash, it is unknown, but it appeared to reporters that the truck had left the highway at the location, drove from the highway across the frontage road into the fence, and through the field.
