SAN ANGELO, TX — A third crash on US 87 north within the past 24 hours happened just after 8 p.m. Friday night near the crossing for Glass Rd. in Grape Creek.
Two pickups collided in the southbound lanes of the highway. One pickup came to a rest in the barrow ditch and the other pickup was on the shoulder of the highway.
Both trucks were driven by the respective sole occupants. One driver refused medical treatment at the scene but the other was rushed to Shannon Medical Center.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Texas DPS.
US 87 in Grape Creek has seen a flurry of major crashes since last night when an alleged drunk driver rolled a pickup truck and badly damaged the guardrails last night at around 10:30 p.m. This afternoon, a senior couple was killed in a single vehicle crash. Now, we have a third crash.
