Teen Driver at Helm in Crazy Rollover Crash Into Light Pole on Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX — Police said the driver in the rollover crash on Sunday afternoon that hit a light pole was 16 years old.

Police said a tan colored GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound in the far left lane of Loop 306. In the 4400 block, the SUV struck cables in the median and rolled over one time, hitting a light pole before coming to a stop.

A 30-year-old passenger was transported to Shannon ER with what police said were minor injuries. The 16-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger were uninjured.

At 7:45 p.m. Sunday the eastbound lanes of Loop 306 were closed for the single-vehicle crash. Of interest in this crash was how high up the light pole the impact happened - 10-15 feet in the air. One ambulance was at the scene yesterday to transport the 30-year-old crash victim.
