Searchers Find 'Target' Suspected to be Body of Missing Person in Twin Buttes Reservoir

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has found a 'target' suspected to be the body of 47-year-old Dios Martinez, the man who drowned in Twin Buttes on Sunday. 

As first reported by San Angelo LIVE!, on Mar.  27 at around 5 p.m., game wardens with the Texas Parks and Wildlife, along with Deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Twin Buttes for the report of a drowning victim. Later TPWD confirmed that Dios Manny Martinez, 47, went under the water and has been missing since. Martinez drown after the boat he was on, a 23 foot sailboat, sunk near the Twin Buttes Dam.

New information revealed that on Tuesday afternoon the TPWD did find a target via SONAR. It is not known if this is the body of Martinez.

A diver crew has been sent to the reservoir to retrieve the target. TPWD did confirm that if this was not Martinez's body than they would continue to search in the morning.
