DPS Identifies Driver Killed in US 67 Crash Friday Morning

 

SAN ANGELO , TX — The identity of the man who was killed in Friday morning’s crash on US 67 has been revealed. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Mar. 18 at 1:30 a.m., troopers with the Texas DPS were dispatched to US 67 Near Duckworth Rd. for the report of a major crash.

When they arrived, the troopers discovered a 2015 Ford fusion and a 2012 Freightliner tractor trailer had crashed in the middle of the highway.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead on the scene by Tom Green County Justice of the Peace J.P. McGuire. He has been identified as 26 year–old Luis Hernandez Serrano. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The investigation led by the Texas DPS revealed that the semi was traveling south on US 67. The Ford fusion was traveling northbound and for unknown reasons left the roadway and drove into oncoming traffic.

The semi truck driver attempted to take evasive action but crashed into the left side of the fusion causing the death of the driver.
