WATCH: Bell Street Shut Down Following Early Morning Fatal Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A fatal crash disrupted traffic on Tuesday morning near the intersection of Bell Street and Ricks Drive, according to the San Angelo Police Department. 

SAPD issued a Nixel alert at 7:33 am to avoid the area due to a motor vehicle accident that involved a pedestrian and a black Chevrolet SUV. 

Police informed our reporter on the scene that a death was involved in the crash and that the next of kin was to be notified before details of the crash were to be released. 

 

Cones were used to section off the crash scene in which the remains of 3 boots could be seen on the street. Police interviewed multiple witnesses around the scene as well as sent up a drone to evaluate the aftermath of the crash.

Multiple 18-wheeler trucks were halted due to the accident in the southbound lane of the Old Ballinger Highway. Northbound traffic was diverted east down Ricks Dr. 

It is unknown if any other injuries occurred.
