UPDATE: San Angelo Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Tuesday's Early Morning Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has identified the man killed in Tuesday morning's crash on Bell Street.

As previously reported, on Mar. 15 at around 7 a.m., officers with the San Angelo Police Department shut down a portion of N. Bell st. for the report of a fatal crash. For the original report see: WATCH: Bell Street Shut Down Following Early Morning Fatal Crash

At the time of the original report police only confirmed that someone was killed in the crash. Now, police have identified the man as 23-year-old Diego Mar, of San Angelo. 

Investigation at the scene indicated that Mar was walking south bound in the middle of the roadway in the 1100 block of N Bell Street. While walking south bound he stepped in front of a north bound vehicle.

The vehicle, a 2014 Gray Kia struck Mar causing incapacitating injuries to Mar. Mar was transported to Shannon Hospital by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officer J. Welch with the SAPD traffic division is investigation this incident.
