Watch: Tunnel Fire Under Bryant Blvd. Prompts Desperate Search for Possible Victim

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Firefighters and police responded a call about a possible fire and a victim inn the tunnels under Bryant Blvd. and 7th St. Thursday evening.

Traffic was blocked as first responders worked at the scene.

Here's the official statement about what happened from San Angelo Fire Department Battalion Chief  Stacy Wright at the scene:

"We had a report of a possible fire in the drainage ditches, the tunnels under the streets.  When the first arriving truck got here there was smoke coming from one of the tunnels and there was a report of maybe a victim in there, so we went into a rescue mode and got more trucks and ambulances here.  We put the fire out and searched and couldn't find anybody."
