WATCH: Officials Confirm One Fatality in Horrific Chadbourne St. Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police Department investigating officers say one person was killed in a high speed crash at the intersection of N. Chadbourne and 19th St. Monday afternoon.  According to the SAPD Public Information Office at the scene Monday night, a Ford F-150 was southbound on N. Chadbourne St. at a high rate of speed.  The truck sped past an SAPD patrol vehicle.

As we reported earlier, the crash shut down Chadbourne from 18th St. to 20th St. for hours.

The officer turned around in an attempt to stop the F-150 and the officer witnessed the high speed crash at the intersection of 19th and N. Chadbourne.

There was a black SUV southbound on Chadbourne in the left turn lane waiting to turn onto 19th St. when the speeding F-150 crashed into it from behind spinning the vehicle around.  The crash was so hard it knocked the front driver's side wheel and tire off the vehicle and down the road for hundreds of feet.

The F-150 continued through the intersection and crossed the center line crashing into the northbound white SUV almost head on, according to witnesses, sending the SUV flying.  The white SUV was destroyed as it rolled coming to a stop sitting upright.

The F-150 also rolled across the street crashing into a light pole and at least two trees on the northbound sidewalk of Chadbourne St. ending up upside down near 18th St.

The driver of the F-150 was trapped in his vehicle and first responders had to cut him out of the truck.

SAPD Public Information Officer Tracy Piatt-Fox says one female driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.

San Angelo police taped off the scene and plan on performing a reenactment of the crash Tuesday.  They also used a drone to record footage of the wreckage.
