High School Student Dies After Fatal Crash with a Deer

 

COLEMAN, TX -- A Coleman High School student died after a fatal crash with deer early Sunday morning. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on July 28 the DPS received a call about a vehicle accident on County Road 223 just 1.2 mile from County Road 244. 

When troopers arrived they found a 2018 Can-Am Defender that had collided with a deer in the middle of the roadway. 

The UTV was occupied by three people. One of the passengers, Tallye Harris, 16, of Coleman, sustainned serious injuries and was flown to Shannon where she passed away. 

The other two were not injured. 

After investigation troopers determined that the UTV was traveling South on CR 223. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by the UTV.
