SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Blue Ridge Trail and Palo Duro Drive on Tuesday morning for a reported single-vehicle rollover crash.
Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, San Angelo police and other first responders were dispatched to the 2700 block of Palo Duro Drive in the Southland neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a black Nissan Pathfinder on its roof after rolling over. According to radio traffic, the vehicle's occupant had gotten out before first responders arrived.
A San Angelo police officer said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The officer said a dip in the roadway contributed to the crash after the driver overcorrected. The Pathfinder then left the roadway, entered a yard and struck a mailbox.
There was one occupant inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The occupant was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
An "ERO" designation was observed on the occupant's shirt. Enforcement and Removal Operations is a division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
When asked whether a federal agent was involved, the police officer said the driver involved in the crash was initially contacted by federal agents, who were the first to arrive at the scene before notifying the San Angelo Police Department. A light bar could be seen inside the vehicle that crashed.
No citation had been issued as of Tuesday morning, but the officer said one is expected.
