Mother Drowns on Mother's Day After Car is Swept Away by Flood Water

 

BROWNWOOD, TX – A woman died yesterday after her car was swept away by flood waters on a county road.

On May 12, Firefighters were dispatched to CR 257 due to a truck that was being swept away. On the way to the run they found one of the survivors a 29-year-old man walking down the road trying to get help.

He told firefighters that his girlfriend was driving and went around a road block into the water. Once in the water the truck began being swept away and the two got out of the truck. The man was able to reach dry land but the woman was swept away and held on to the bank until help came.

The mother of the driver was also inside the and was not able to get out of the truck. According to KTXS, the truck was submerged and swept down the Pecan Bayou.

The driver was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center. and there is still no sign of the mother or the truck.
