A male unlicensed and uninsured driver was driving at a high rate of speed eastbound on Field St. and barreled through the stop sign at N. Howard St., police said. The green Ford Ranger the man was driving smashed into a white vehicle. It appeared to be a white Nissan Altima, though we are unsure because of all of the damage. He also smashed a parked Ram 2500 and clipped the back end of a Honda Element, too.
The driver and the passengers of the white car where injured and in shock.
A female passenger of the Ford Ranger got out of the truck, ran away from the injured, slipped next door, saw a brown Jeep Cherokee, hopped in and fled.
The occupants of the white car were eventually rushed to Shannon Medical Center with injuries. Police did not now the extent of the injuries. The Honda Element and Ram 2500 were unoccupied.
The Ford Ranger driver was arrested for having no license and no insurance.
Meanwhile, police are searching for the stolen brown 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by the fleeing girlfriend. Police believe they know her identity. Perhaps the boyfriend told them? If you see her or the Cherokee, police request that you call 9-1-1.
Here is the location of the crash. It happened at 5:30 p.m.
