Update @ 3:28 p.m.

Sgt. Justin Baker with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said a 19-year-old man from Miles driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on US 67. While traveling westbound, the vehicle's left rear tire had a blowout.

"As the result of the blowout, the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and went into a side skid, and while in a side skid, the vehicle rolled approximately one and a half times," Baker explained. "During the roll, [the driver] actually rolled over the railroad tracks and came to rest on the other side on its top facing northbound."

He added that it's rare for vehicles to make it over the railroad track instead of just landing in the ditch next to it.

The driver was transported to Shannon Medical Center by Shannon EMS, and, at this time, his injuries are unknown.

Structurally, the railroad tracks appear to be fine, but engineers are going out to the scene to investigate for damage and confirm "its integrity."

The investigation is ongoing, and no citations have been issued since this appears to be an accident caused by a blown out tire.
