SCHLEICHER COUNTY, TX - This afternoon, before 1 p.m., Texas Park & Wildlife, the Eldorado Fire Department and Schleicher County Sheriff's Department responded to a crash on US 277, about 2 miles south of the Tom Green and Schleicher County line.
According to a SCSO deputy, a white Dodge Ram was traveling northbound pulling a 4-wheel flatbed trailer. While in a curve, the driver hydroplaned, ran off the left side of the road, and careened into a ditch. The trailer also jackknifed and disconnected from the truck.
The deputy said the driver suffered a laceration to the head, and was complaining of pain in his leg. He was rushed to Shannon Medical Center via a Schleicher County EMS. The deputy said the man was conscious and responsive after the crash.
At the time of the crash, the road conditions were wet. Because of these wet road conditions and possible flooding in areas, local law enforcement are asking drivers to proceed with caution.
