Pedestrian Struck by Pickup on Sherwood Way

A San Angelo man was rushed to the hospital with a possible head injury after being struck by a pickup truck in the feeder road to Sherwood Way, in the 3400 block.

According to San Angelo police, the pedestrian was wearing black clothing walking near the center of the roadway and the driver of the truck indicated that he didn’t see the pedestrian in time. Luckily the truck was only traveling 15 mph. “The impact pushed the pedestrian over instead of him being run over,” police said.

The pedestrian hit his head on a curb, and EMS rushed him to the hospital for a CT scan. Police are attempting to locate a family member. “He may be MHMR,” police said, referring to the pedestrian.

Police are not citing the driver who struck the pedestrian. The incident happened at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve.
